Cancel or Change an Order

Last updated:

Plans change. This page explains how to cancel an order, or change its size, colour, quantity, items or shipping address, what we can still change once preparation has started, and how quickly you are refunded when an order is cancelled.

Cancellations and changes at a glance

  • Free cancellation or changes: within 24 hours, provided dispatch has not begun of placing your order, as long as it has not shipped.
  • After that: we still try to help until the parcel is handed to the carrier.
  • Already shipped: accept the parcel and return it within 60 days under our Returns & Exchanges Policy.
  • Refunds for cancelled orders: the full amount, issued through the original payment route within 7 calendar days of approval.

1. Cancellation and change window

You can cancel or change your order free of charge within 24 hours, provided dispatch has not begun of placing it, as long as it has not been handed to the carrier. We start preparing orders quickly, so contact us as soon as you know you need a change. After the window has passed, we still do our best to make the change until the parcel leaves us.

2. How to request a cancellation or change

  1. Email [email protected] or submit a ticket with the subject “Cancel” or “Change”.
  2. Include your order number, the email address used at checkout and exactly what you want to cancel or change.
  3. We confirm in writing within one business day (operational estimate). Your request is final once you receive our confirmation email.

3. Changes we can make

  • Switch to a different size, colour or other option of the same product.
  • Change the quantity, or add or remove items.
  • Correct or update the shipping address.
  • Upgrade to a faster shipping method, where one is available.

If a change affects the price, shipping cost or tax, we tell you the difference first. We only charge more after you agree, and we refund any lower amount within 7 calendar days.

4. If your order has already shipped

Once a parcel is with the carrier, we can no longer cancel it. Please accept the delivery and start a return within 60 days under our Returns & Exchanges Policy. If you only need an address change, we ask the carrier to redirect the parcel, although the carrier decides whether a redirect is possible.

5. Refunds for cancelled orders

When we confirm your cancellation, we refund everything you paid, including shipping and taxes, to your original payment method, and we issue the approved refund through your original payment route within 7 calendar days of approval. See our Refund Policy for details.

6. Cancellations by Vivid Shirt

We may need to cancel an order if an item becomes unavailable, a price was displayed incorrectly, the payment cannot be verified, or the address cannot be delivered to. If that happens, we email you straight away and refund the full amount, issued through the original payment route within 7 calendar days of approval. Where possible we also suggest an in-stock alternative.

Decide whether you need a cart edit or an order change

If you are still browsing and have not submitted an order, edit the cart directly. Check the product name, chosen size and quantity on each line. Removing a cart line does not cancel an order already submitted, and changing a browser selection does not update an existing order. Once an order has been placed, contact support with its number and explain the requested change. This distinction helps us identify the right action. A cart is a browsing and ordering workspace, while a submitted order needs an order-specific review so that a change is not accidentally applied to a different purchase.

The details that identify the correct order

Include the order number and the email used for the purchase, along with the design name, size and quantity affected. If you have more than one recent order, specify which one needs attention. A message saying “change my shirt” is less useful than naming the actual design and the current selected size. You can also include the product link if it helps identify the print. Keep the conversation private rather than sharing your order details on a public page. Support does not need a payment-card security code, bank password or a copy of unrelated personal documents to locate a cancellation or change request.

Describe the current choice and the requested choice

For a size change, write both the size currently ordered and the size you want instead. For a quantity change, state the current quantity and the intended quantity. If you want to remove one item from a multi-item order, identify that item rather than asking to cancel “the order” when you intend to keep the remaining shirts. A precise before-and-after description reduces the chance of a misunderstanding. Check the response from support to ensure that it reflects your request. An acknowledgement that a message was received is not the same as confirmation that the requested change was completed.

A delivery-address correction

Tell support promptly if a street number, apartment, postal code or recipient name was entered incorrectly. Explain which part needs correction and provide the complete intended delivery address through the private order conversation. The delivery country must remain within the supported shipping area: United States, Canada, Australia or New Zealand. Do not replace an unsupported country with a nearby supported one as a workaround. A correct parcel label must identify the actual destination. Address updates depend on the order’s stage and whether dispatch has begun; a carrier handoff can make a change unavailable even when the request is made soon after ordering.

Changing a gift destination

If a gift should go to another recipient or address, include the order number and the intended receiving details. Keep your own contact email available for order communication unless you are specifically asking about a contact update. A gift recipient and a payment account holder can be different people, so explain the requested change clearly rather than assuming one detail automatically changes the others. Check preparation and delivery estimates before relying on a particular event date. An address correction cannot guarantee a birthday or travel deadline, and a changed destination still needs to be within the store’s supported shipping area.

When dispatch has already begun

A request made after dispatch begins may need to follow the return process instead of an order edit. Support will review the actual order status and available carrier information. The creation of a tracking label and a physical carrier acceptance scan are different events, so neither should be interpreted without the order context. Do not mail a parcel back based on an assumed status or use the published business contact as an unconfirmed return address. If an edit is no longer possible, the sixty-day return window from delivery remains available under the returns policy. Support should explain which process applies to the actual item.

A cancellation that affects one line only

Identify the item and quantity you want removed and say that the remaining items should continue. This is useful when several graphic designs are ordered together or when the same design appears in different sizes. Ask support to confirm the resulting order composition and amount. A partial cancellation is different from a full-order cancellation, and it should not be assumed to stop every parcel associated with the purchase. If a payment was captured, any approved refund follows the original payment route. If no payment was captured, support should verify the transaction state before describing an amount as already charged or refundable.

Payment and refund implications

A confirmed order change can affect the items and amount involved, but the actual payment state must be checked separately. Do not send money through an informal email link to make an adjustment. Support should explain how the connected payment provider handles the specific order and any approved refund. Approved refunds are issued through the original payment route within 7 calendar days of approval, with no restocking fee. Keep the approval message and transaction reference if one is supplied. The existence of a cart or an order screen does not, by itself, prove that a payment was captured, so a refund discussion needs the real transaction information.

A different design is a different choice

If you decide you prefer another graphic design, provide both product names or links and the intended sizes. The replacement should be an actual offered item rather than an assumed design variation. Product photographs and collection names can help you compare artwork, but they do not establish manufacturer dimensions. If fit is the reason for the switch, use the size guide and request confirmed garment measurements where necessary. Support should explain whether the order can be edited at its current stage or whether a cancellation and new order is the appropriate route. Check the confirmed outcome before assuming the original design has been replaced.

When the requested option is unavailable

An edit or exchange depends on the actual availability of the requested option when it is reviewed. If the intended size or design is unavailable, support will explain the relevant alternative or cancellation/refund route. You should have an opportunity to consider an alternative rather than being assigned another item without a clear agreement. Read its product details and size information before deciding. A larger labelled size is not a universal guarantee of the same fit relationship across different garments. Keep the original request and any alternative decision in the same conversation so that the eventual order reflects what you actually agreed to.

Avoid several contradictory requests

If your preference changes while support is reviewing the order, reply to the existing conversation and explain the latest intended outcome. For example, say that you now want to keep the original size instead of requesting an exchange, or that a partial cancellation should replace a full cancellation request. Messages sent through several separate channels can make the timeline unclear. Keep the order number and current decision together, and do not assume that a later cart edit reverses an earlier support request. The confirmation from support should identify the actual change that was completed or explain why the order could no longer be changed.

What to review in a confirmation

Check the design name, size, quantity, delivery address where relevant and the resulting amount. Keep the confirmation so that the delivered item can be compared with the intended order later. If a detail is wrong, respond promptly and explain the discrepancy rather than silently accepting a mismatched confirmation. A delivery estimate remains an estimate even after an address correction or size edit. For an approved cancellation involving a captured payment, keep the refund approval date as well. The seven-calendar-day refund timeline begins at approval, and the refund policy explains how to report a credit that does not appear on the original payment account.

If you receive the original item after asking for a change

Compare the delivered item with the confirmation you received, not only with the first request you sent. A request may have arrived after dispatch or may not have been confirmed as completed. Explain the order timeline and show the relevant confirmation if the item differs from the final agreed details. Keep photographs of the shirt and label where they help identify the design or size. Support can then establish whether the matter is a dispatch error, a change that could not be applied, or a preference-based return. Follow the return instructions provided for the actual case rather than guessing who pays the return postage.

If you are unsure which process applies

Contact support with a short timeline: when the order was placed, what you want to change, whether tracking has been supplied and which confirmation you have received. You do not need to diagnose the order system yourself. Support should review the actual order and explain whether a cart edit, order update, cancellation, return or refund is the relevant action. Keep the question focused on the item and outcome. Clear information makes it easier to resolve the request without confusing preparation time with transit time or a received message with a completed change. Browse the help center for related guidance while keeping the order-specific conversation private.

Read return and exchange guidance, refund instructions and delivery guidance. Email [email protected] with your order reference.

The seven-calendar-day commitment is the store’s issuance of an approved refund through the original payment route. Your payment provider may take additional time to display the credit in your account. Keep the approval and any refund confirmation together, and contact support with the order reference if you need help.
